NAIFA has named Mark Acre the 2014 Young Advisors Team Leader of the Year. Acre, 33, is president of the Nixa, Mo.-based OneSource Insurance Group, a company he launched in 2007.

“NAIFA-Springfield has benefited from Mark’s leadership and service since he joined the NAIFA-Springfield Board of Directors five years ago and then served as president in 2012-2013. He has taken the association to a new level with his dedication and passion for NAIFA and the industry,” said NAIFA President John F. Nichols. “Mark’s leadership is an inspiration to us all.”

While president of NAIFA-Springfield, the association was awarded the Platinum Bobo Award, an award which had not been won by the local since 2006. In addition to president, Acre served as chair of the YAT committee as well as chair of government relations, membership and APIC. He is the incoming secretary treasurer.

The YAT Leader of the Year Award, developed in 2010, recognizes an advisor’s commitment to NAIFA, including service on local, state and national committees and participation in the Leadership in Life Institute (LILI); involvement with state or federal legislative efforts; participation in external service work such as charities; and an ability to inspire others.

“Mark’s professionalism and zeal for service to his customers are outstanding,” said fellow NAIFA member S. Ann Pugh, CFP, of ING Financial Partners in Clinton, Mo. “Mark is dedicated to a working relationship with members of Congress on both a state and national level. He was a tremendous asset during the recent Fly-in to our nation’s capital.”

In addition to his service to NAIFA, Acre is active in his community as a board member for the Rotary Club and the Junior Achievement programs in Springfield. He also is involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Special Olympics and Care to Learn.

As the YAT Leader of the Year, Acre will be recognized during the 2014 NAIFA Career Conference and Annual Meeting in San Diego in September.
